You have purchased one of our electro submersible pumps. Here we propose a handbook of technical help to solve some of the major problems that can occur when using a submersible pump assiduous and to perform a proper maintenance to ensure the efficiency and functionality.
PROBABLE CAUSES
  1. The selector switch is set to the OFF position.
  2. The motor in not powered.
  3. The automatic monitoring devices (level switch, internal thermic-amperometric protection, etc.) are not enabling operation.

REMEDIES
  1. Turn to the ON position.
  2. Check that the electrical equipment is in a good condition. Check whether the equipment is receiving power.
  3. Wait until the correct operative conditions have been restored or check the efficiency of the automatic devices.
PROBABLE CAUSES
  1. All motor phases are not being fully powered (threephase version only).
  2. Power draw is unbalanced amongst the phases (threephase version only).
  3. The motor turns in the wrong direction (threephase version only).
  4. Wrong overload relay setting.
  5. The power supply voltage rating fails to correspond with that of the electric pump.
  6. The electric pump fails to turn freely since there are points that rub.
  7. Pumped fluid excessively viscous and/or dense.
  8. High temperature in the electric panel.
  9. Electric motor temperature excessive.
  10. Damaged motor windings owing to the presence of liquid.

REMEDIES
  1. Check that the electrical equipment is in a good condition. Check the power supply voltage rating.
  2. Check the unbalance as described in the "Electrical connections and information" paragraph. If necessary, send the electric pump to an authorized after sales service center.
  3. Invert two of the three phases.
  4. Compare the setting amperage value with the one on the electric pump data plate.
  5. Change the electric pump or change the power supply.
  6. Check the hydraulics according to the procedure described in the "Maintenance" paragraph.
  7. Immerse the electric pump in lukewarm water if it is blocked by ice. If necessary, send the electric pump to an authorized after-sales service center.
  8. Check whether the right electric pump has been chosen.
  9. Check that the relay is the compensated ambient temperature type. Protect the electric control panel from the sun and heat.
  10. Remove the incrustations from the cooling surfaces of the motor. Check whether the right electric pump has been chosen since:
    1. the temperature of the fluid may be excessive;
    2. the liquid may be at a persistently low level and fail to cover the motor
  11. Check according to the procedure described in the "Maintenance" paragraph. If necessary, send the electric pump to an authorized after-sales service center.
PROBABLE CAUSES
  1. Insufficient flow rate of the electric pump.
  2. The automatic monitoring devices (level switch, etc.) fail to enable the pump to stop.

REMEDIES
  1. Check whether the right electric pump has been selected. Inspect the electric pump hydraulics according to the procedure described in the "Maintenance" paragraph. Clean the strainer for the HYDRO series. Pump clear water to flush. Pump clear water through the duct to flush or demount it if necessary.
  2. Wait until the correct operative conditions have been restored or check the efficiency of the automatic devices.
PROBABLE CAUSES
  1. Air enters through the suction mouth.
  2. The motor turns in the wrong direction (three-phase version and PX).
  3. Worn electric pump.
  4. Electric pump partially clogged.
  5. Delivery duct or valve partially clogged.
  6. Sluice valve partially closed.

REMEDIES
  1. Increase the level of liquid around the suction mouth.
  2. Invert two of the three phases for three-phase pumps. Invert the polarity for the PX pumps.
  3. Inspect the electric pump hydraulics according to the procedure described in the "Maintenance" paragraph.
  4. Clean the strainer for the HYDRO series. Pump clear water to flush.
  5. Pump clear water through the duct to flush or demount it if necessary.
  6. Open the sluice valve
